The Amanda Beatson Trophy
Women's Most Valuable Player Trophy. Amanda Beatson was the first Cyclones player to play for Titans back in 2006. Back in the time when the Cyclones did not play in the local women's competition because of a non-written rule. Titans approached Mandy about playing for a Div 1 women's team they were building and she did not hesitate to say, "Yes, I'll play." She led that team to a championship and the following season with an MVP performance.
Mandy has since moved away from Rockhampton to apply her trade in other towns but has always kept a close eye on the Titans club and will now forever be remembered as a Titan here in Rocky. She is a towering presence on the court, standing 6 foot 3, that casually goes about getting the job done. Doing whatever is needed for her team to get the win.
A great mate to all off the court, a caring person who will never walk past you without having a chat and asking how you and your family are doing. When contacted about being honoured by this trophy she teared up instantly saying that in all her years in the game, this is her greatest achievement. She was so proud that her time in the game will be forever remembered.
Thanks, Amanda and we hope to see you back in Rocky in a Titans uniform one day. FOREVER A TITAN!!!
